Submitting Request for SCCM Boot Media Certificate
- Open up the “Certificates – Local Computer” mmc console plugin, in an mmc console on your workstation.
- Right click the personal store > All tasks > Request new certificate
- Click NEXT till you get to the “Request Certificates” section of the wizard
- Place a check mark in the “SCCM Boot Media Certificate” option
- Click ‘Details’ on the SCCM Boot Media Certificate Selection to reveal the Properties button
- Click Properties
- Enter a Friendly Name so that its easier to find your cert later
- Click OK
- Click Enroll
- Click Finish
Now, within your Personal certificates store, you should be able to find your newly requested cert by its "Friendly Name". You can export it for use in creating your boot media by performing the following:
- Right click on the certificate > All Tasks > Export…
- When exporting the certificate, choose “Yes, export the private key”
- Enter a Password for the certificate
- Enter a location to save the certificate
- Click finish
