The following tasks must be completed by the unit prior to the on-boarding session. Please be sure to complete tasks at least 5 days prior to your session to allow the UFEM team time to prepare your unit's management environment.

  1. Listing of all top-level OUs in AD that will be managed by your unit in the Trend environment. Each "agent grouping" in Office Scan is based off an OU, and includes all sub OUs and objects (servers and workstations with CPM installed) under it. You will have a grouping in Office Scan for each OU you provide. The easiest way to send us this information is probably a screen shot of your OU structure. If you have multiple sub-OUs with the same name, they will be consolidated into one group within the Trend Consoles. The only known workaround at this time is to rename the sub-OUs so they are unique.

  2. Accounts that will be used by your unit admins for managing/accessing the Trend environment i.e. GatorLink or adm-gl accounts (no security groups).

  3. Email address of a distribution group that will receive email notifications from the Trend environment. An Exchange distribution group is necessary to receive outbreak notifications.

  4. Configure at least 2 test endpoints to be used during the session (if your unit includes Macs, please include at least 1 test Mac). These endpoints must have the BigFix Client installed, and they must show up in the production BES Console. Provide names of test endpoints, as they show in the BES Console.

If your unit is interested in using UF's Trend service, please submit a new Cherwell ticket by doing the following:

  1. Go to https://my.it.ufl.edu

  2. From the category listing, select "End-Point Computing"

  3. If prompted to sign in, do so with your Gatorlink

  4. Select "End-Point Management"

  5. Select "Trend Micro Antivirus"

  6. Fill out the required ticket fields, making sure to include the above mentioned required info, and click "Submit"

Your ticket will get routed to the UFEM Team who will then contact you regarding the next steps to take.
