How will prospective students find QuickReg?

In general, units are responsible for advertising their own activities and will only send the student to QuickReg to start the registration process.

Known Students

If prospective students are known in advance, an email with a registration link and instructions could be sent directly to the students.

Unknown Students

If the prospective students are not known in advance, suggested advertising options include:
  • Link to QuickReg from a program/unit website.
  • Email, social networking, postcards, conference presentations, subject-related blogs, or other marketing/communication campaign.
  • UF Distance Learning website. Note: this link will automatically be created if the section's fee(s) is marked to be advertised.
  • QuickReg’s “All Activities” page. Note: this link will automatically be created if the section's fee(s) is marked to be advertised.
  • Professional Development's Continuing Education Hub web page. Note: this link will automatically be created if the section's fee(s) is marked to be advertised.

Does QuickReg require UFIDs?

UFIDs are created for new students as part of the QuickReg registration process. If someone already has a UFID, they may enter it during the registration process and a new UFID will not be created. QuickReg will also direct registrants previously associated with UF to obtain their UFID if they do not remember it.

Is there an explanation of the rules for creating GatorLink passwords?

Yes, tips for creating and protecting a GatorLink password are available at: http://www.it.ufl.edu/identity/gatorlink/tips.html.

May someone with an existing GatorLink ID register through QuickReg?

Yes, someone with an existing GatorLink ID may register through QuickReg, they do not need to create a new GatorLink ID.

If an individual formerly had a GatorLink ID, that account may be reactivated as part of the QuickReg registration process.

How long are GatorLink IDs created through QuickReg active?

The GatorLink IDs created through QuickReg are active through the length of time specified in the "Activity Length" when setting up a QuickReg activity. The clock starts when the student registers (for rolling enrollment activities) or when the activity starts (for cohort-based activities).

If an activity lasts more than a year, QuickReg students will receive an email with instructions to verify they are still using the account, and they must follow those instructions, otherwise their GatorLink ID will be inactivated.

Please note, this only applies if an individual is only associated with UF through a QuickReg enrollment. If someone has other associations—such as faculty or staff—their GatorLink account will be managed through the rules and regulations for those associations.

What online UF services will QuickReg students have access to?

Students whose only association with the University of Florida is through a QuickReg registration will receive a GatorLink username and password, but will not be issued a GatorLink email address. Other UF services—such as UF Connect/SharePoint and on-campus wireless access—may also be restricted. More details concerning this are available on the QuickReg Tech Details & Issues page.

QuickReg students who are associated with UF through other routes—such as an employee or full-time credit student—will retain all rights and services awarded to those associations (i.e. QuickReg will not reduce the services these people already have access to).

How can I check the enrollment progress for a student trying to register?

If you have administrative or report reader access to QuickReg you can go to the Management and Reporting page (you must log in first) and view the Enrollments for the Program, Activity, or Section you are interested in.

If you have questions concerning QuickReg, please submit a "Provost/AA Application Support" help request form found on this page: http://tss.it.ufl.edu/help-requests.
