Replacement Process
In order to begin the Webex and telephone bulk ordering process, units should complete one Telephone Bulk Template spreadsheet per Chartfield string purchase and submit it via a Communications Support ticket
Removal of Obsolete Phones
Campus IT support is responsible for retrieving their unit’s phones and disposing of them appropriately. They must follow these guidelines:
- Departments are responsible for removal of EoS phones from the network.
- End-of-Support (EoS) phones are obsolete and pose a security risk to the university.
- EoS phones should be sent to UF surplus for recycling or disposal; they should not be swapped, donated or resold.
- When a device is disposed of, units should submit a ticket to the UFIT Telecommunications team in order to remove the device’s number from the department’s account.
