HiPerGator-RV (ResVault)

HiPerGator-RV (HPG-RV)  is a secure computing environment (encrypted enclave) where scientists and collaborators can conduct research on restricted and confidential data. HiPerGator-RV (HPG-RV) is designed to run virtual machines that are secure and pre-approved, with the capacity for large-scale data storage and computation. ResVault VMs act as workstations with remote access. The environment is compliant with NIST 800-171 Rev. 3 to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) as required by Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) data. The system is also compliant with NIST 800-53 Rev. 5 for other types of restricted data, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) law on protection of ePHI (electronic protected health information), as well as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) on protection of student information.
