External Gatorlink Accounts

Depending on which credentials are used for authentication, HiPerGator accounts can be classified as UF internal, federated, and external accounts. This service type is used in conjunction with an External HiPerGator account request form to request a GatorLink account that can be later used to obtain or retain a HiPerGator user account. UF persons who already have an active GatorLink account can go directly to the GatorLink-based HiPerGator account form. A prospective HiPerGator user who doesn’t have a UF GatorLink or an account with an institution that is a member of InCommon Federation must request an External GatorLink account. This also applies to current HiPerGator users who will be leaving UF if they fall into the external GatorLink user category when their GatorLink account expires. UF Academic Departments can provide departmental affiliation for External GatorLink Users. If that option is not available to you, please use the External HiPerGator account request form to request a Research Computing Affiliated GatorLink account that can later be used to request a HiPerGator account using the GatorLink-based HiPerGator account form. Note that an affiliated GatorLink account must be renewed, generally yearly, but depending on the agreement with the respective department.
