From Compute to Discovery - Large-Scale Computing & AI Research Symposium

In 2024, UF launched a Large-Scale Computing & AI research funding initiative to support ambitious research projects that require large-scale computing and artificial intelligence resources.

At this year's AI Days, awarded researchers from across UF will showcase their scientific discoveries, innovative methods and outcomes from these projects at the Large-Scale Computing & AI Research Symposium.

AI Days 2026 is UF's fourth-annual multi-day campus celebration that highlights AI across research, education and student entrepreneurship.

At the symposium on Thursday, Oct. 29, each awarded team will give a 10-minute presentation followed by five minutes of questions and answers.

The symposium will highlight project results and the broader impact of UF’s supercomputing infrastructure in enabling data and compute intensive and AI-driven research across scientific disciplines.

Symposium objectives:

  • Showcase the outcomes and scientific impact of the funded projects.
  • Highlight how HiPerGator enabled research that would otherwise have been difficult or impossible.
  • Share successful approaches, methodologies, AI models, datasets, and research software with the broader UF community.
  • Foster networking and collaboration among UF researchers working with large-scale computing and AI.
  • Demonstrate the value of continued investment in large scale computing and AI infrastructure.
